ABOUT US

The goal of our club is to not only to raise funds for Operation Smile, but to also inspire students to tackle global health problems and learn more about the field of medicine and oral surgery. Through Operation Smile at SFU, students will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children around the world as well as learn more about the field of oral surgery and medicine in general. Additionally, being part of a club that works towards the well being of vulnerable children is beneficial when applying to graduate programs such as masters programs, dental schools, and medical schools.

MEET THE TEAM

President Assal Rezaei Tabrizi Hello everyone, my name is Assal and I am a second year Biomedical Physiology Major. I love skiing, Ultimate Frisbee and cooking. I started this club because there are thousands of children suffering from cleft palates who do not have the resources to get surgery. Although cleft palate surgery is very simple, taking only 45 min and costing $240 on average, it is inaccessible to many people around the world. Through Operation Smile SFU, I hope to give students the resources to help provide safe and accessible surgery for children all around the world.
